$84 for the Lite-On Blu-ray 8x SATA drive

Newegg.com's Shell Shocker deal of the day for today is on the Lite-On Blu-ray combo SATA drive (model no. ihes108-29) which has been reduced to $84.99.  That's only $10 less than their regular price of $94.99, but it's the best price we have seen on this Blu-ray drive by about $27.  FREE shipping is included and sales tax applies for residents of California, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.

While some owners of the Lite-on Blu-ray drive haven't had any problems with it yet, the majority seem to have had bad experiences with it, so buyer beware, the small price may come with big headaches.  The Pioneer BDC-202BK Blu-ray/DVD/CD combo drive has a slightly higher customer satisfaction rating according to Amazon, however at this time installing either of these drives in a PC typically ends up being quite a hassle.  Eshop.macsales.com has the BDC-202BK for $119.99 with $4.06 for shipping.  For a slightly higher price of $209.99 TigerDirect.com has the Pioneer BDR-203 Blu-ray burner, which receives much better reviews and appears to be worth spending the extra cash on.  Pick up a 15-pack of 4x Memorex BD-R discs for $39.99 with FREE shipping at SuperMediaStore.com.
